IDA member and Indiana MOM chairman Dr. Todd Briscoe has been nominated for a McMillen Health Vitality Award. Indiana Mission of Mercy (MOM) is a large scale dental clinic providing free oral health care to patients of all ages who cannot otherwise afford or access care. Dr. Briscoe chaired this two-day event in Indianapolis in May 2017 and is again chairing the next event, planned for May 17-18, 2019 in Fort Wayne, IN. Dr. Briscoe’s positive attitude and big smile creates the success of Mission of Mercy for the communities that it impacts.

After graduation from dental school, Dr. Briscoe served in the United States Navy for three years. While in the Navy, he continued his dental education by training with specialists in the following areas: periodontics (treatment of the gums), endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. During his tour in the Navy, he was consistently ranked in the top 1% by his superiors. His commitment to excellence continues today with continuing education courses. Recently, Dr. Briscoe graduated from cosmetic and orthodontic courses.

During the 29 years Dr. Briscoe has practiced in the Fort Wayne and New Haven areas, he has been a member of the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Association, and the Isaac Knapp District Dental Association. Dr. Briscoe served as President of the district and has been a representative for the state at the national meetings. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.

Dr. Briscoe & Mary have been married for over 30 years. They have three children: Ryan, Kathleen and Kristin.

The 2017 Indiana MOM event, chaired by Dr. Todd Briscoe, 6,457 dental procedures valued at $940,00 to 1,217 patients.

The McMillen Health Vitality Awards are held to honor individuals and businesses who are doing extraordinary work in the areas of Health Education, Prevention, Wellness and a category for an outstanding Business. The nominees will be recognized and the award recipients announced at the 2018 Vitality Awards, held at the Parkview Mirro Center on October 10th from 11:30am – 1:00pm. Tickets are available for the event until September 28th.
