Dentists Now Eligible for CARES Act Funds-Deadline September 13

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is expanding the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund to include dental providers. This fund is available for healthcare-related expenses or lost revenue attributable to COVID-19. The final amount each provider receives will be determined after the provider submits an application and the necessary supporting documentation.

The deadline for submitting an application has been extended to Sunday, September 13. Visit the Health and Human Services website for application information and details.

CDC Updates Infection Control Guidelines

In May, the CDC issued infection control guidelines to help dental offices prevent the spread of COVID-19 between patients and dental professionals. On July 15, the CDC issued an update to its guidelines regarding protective eyewear:

  • Protective eyewear (e.g., safety glasses, trauma glasses) with gaps between glasses and the face likely do not protect eyes from all splashes and sprays.
