IDA and the ADA are here to support our members. Below are resources to help with wellness-related issues.

In a crisis? You’re not alone.

Healthcare providers experience extreme stress that can take a toll. If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or a crisis, please text or dial 988 to be connected to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Implemented in July 2022, 988 is the national three-digit dialing code for reaching the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Callers experiencing mental health-related distress, including suicidal thoughts and substance use crisis, are encouraged to reach out. Individuals concerned about a loved one potentially in need of crisis support are also encouraged to call 988. This service is free and confidential. Click here for Indiana suicide resources.

The Be Well Crisis Helpline is accessible to Indiana residents via Indiana 211, the free service line that connects callers with service providers across the state. To reach the helpline, dial 211 and enter your zip code. When prompted, select option three to be connected with a representative of the Be Well Crisis Helpline.

The Crisis Text Line provides 24/7 support via text message or WhatsApp to individuals experiencing a crisis — and that can be any kind of emotional distress, not just suicidal thoughts. The first two responses will be automated, letting you know you are being connected with a trained volunteer crisis counselor and encouraging you to provide more information.
