The Dental Practice Consortium

In 2013, changes brought on by the Affordable Care Act prompted the creation of the Dental Practice Consortium. This partially self-funded MEWA (Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement) was designed to preserve choice, flexibility, and value for IDA members, their families and their staff.

The DPC offers medically underwritten health insurance plans with multiple deductible options and access to a broad network of doctors and medical facilities, enhancing the overall value of IDA membership. This plan also helps dental employers combat workforce issues by providing FREE benefits on top of medical and prescription coverage.

The DPC is guided by an eight-member Board of Trustees representing dentists from across the state and supported by a dedicated team of consultants, legal counsel, and licensed insurance professionals. Together, they built and continue to manage a fiscally responsible, member-focused program.
