Recruiting current and future leaders

The Leadership Committee plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the IDA. This committee is responsible for recruiting and mentoring members for IDA and ADA leadership positions while developing future association leaders. Additionally, the committee oversees initiatives to foster Acceptance, Inclusion, and Respect (AIR) within the association and recognizes outstanding contributions through awards programs. The Leadership Committee is an active and engaged group, requiring strategic thinkers with strong communication and mentoring skills. Members collaborate closely with the Chair and IDA staff liaison to identify, onboard, and support volunteers in leadership roles that align with the organization’s goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting and mentoring potential leaders for IDA and ADA positions.
  • Facilitating leadership training programs to support the growth of future leaders.
  • Overseeing subcommittees focused on AIR initiatives and awards.
  • Collaborating with IDA staff to maintain committee effectiveness and engagement.

Chair: Dr.  Lisa Conard
Meetings per year: Approximately 10 meetings per year. Meetings are generally online.
Time per meeting: 30 minutes to 1 hour per meeting
